CEDEP’s Mastering Business Excellence (MBE) programme equips participants with a solid overview of general management principles in order to thrive in a cross-functional role.

The programme provides the opportunity for participants to consolidate their on-the-job experience with the latest management thinking. The MBE provides the management tools and frameworks which help to execute corporate strategy. The understanding of the crucial importance of execution creates an alignment between strategy formulation and Implementation, creating an information and feedback loop at every level of the organisation.

With a peer group of similar level of managerial responsibilities and a faculty team from around the world, participants delve into the various business functions such as : financial analysis, marketing, strategy, decision making, leadership, negotiation and economics.

This intensive learning experience helps managers sharpen their decision making skills, understand their individual contribution to value creation, and see how their decisions impact the business as a whole.

The MBE runs once a year for eleven days allowing participants to reflect upon and implement their learning. The objective of the programme is to bring strategy to life by providing participants with the language and business acumen that they need to manage and coordinate effectively across functions.

● BUSINESS FUNDAMENTALS builds the business fundamentals. Participants examine the various business functions and how operational management link to corporate strategy. There is also an in-depth look at managing teams, coaching others, and performance management.

● IMPACT ON CORPORATE STRATEGY focuses on integration of the learning and impact on corporate strategy. Participants delve deeply into how topics such change management, investment analysis, and decision making have an impact on overall performance as well as the culture of the company. A strategy simulation game is also used to enhance learning.

The MBE is designed for executives with an average of 5 years of functional management experience. In general, they have gained managerial experience on-the-job. They are earmarked for geographically expanded functional responsibilities, broader general management roles within 2 to 3 years or larger team management responsibilities. Participants are high-potential managers between the ages of 25-35 years old, representing a variety of nationalities, and typically do not have an MBA.
