CEDEP and INSEAD sign a collaboration agreement

Europe, Asia, Middle East, Americas, Africa – July 2022

CEDEP and INSEAD announced the signing of a collaboration agreement for the sale by CEDEP and purchase by INSEAD of the real estate assets and rights of CEDEP in Fontainebleau. Under the agreement, ownership of the CEDEP premises in Fontainebleau was transferred to INSEAD on July 1, 2022. The five buildings on this part of the INSEAD Campus will be called the ‘’Viatte Buildings’’.

As part of the agreement, CEDEP and INSEAD have entered into a 15-year collaboration, which provides CEDEP with the possibility to rent facilities at the INSEAD campuses in Fontainebleau (France), Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Singapore and the hub in San Francisco (USA). In addition, during the term of the agreement, CEDEP will maintain its offices in the Viatte administration building in Fontainebleau, where it will continue to run its main residential programmes.

Ilian Mihov, Dean of INSEAD, says, “I am pleased to see a long-standing wish of our founders – to unite the two campuses – come true. We are confident that this collaboration agreement allows INSEAD to meet its growth ambition and develop its physical footprint to welcome future generations of leaders in Fontainebleau. INSEAD and CEDEP will be free to pursue their own strategies and priorities, whilst potentially collaborating in areas of interest for both parties’’.

Thomas Hinterseer, Managing Director of CEDEP, says “We are excited about this collaboration agreement which allows CEDEP to further increase its focus on its core business and hence even better serve its members and clients. Our base will remain in Fontainebleau, and this agreement will provide an increased flexibility in selecting the locations of our residential programs, closer to our members and clients, while further building our enhanced CEDEP LiVE digital offerings. This agreement will allow both parties to jointly explore new opportunities and areas of possible collaboration, all by providing full freedom to both parties to pursue their own strategy and priorities’’.
