Suresh Tripathi joined Air India in April 2022 as Chief Human Resources Officer. He is a highly experienced and well respected HR leader with more than three decades of HR and IR experience.

Prior to joining Air India, Suresh held the position of Vice President HR at Tata Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur, India, where he was responsible for all aspects of human resource management at Tata Steel’s operations throughout the sub-continent.

Suresh began his career as a Management Trainee at the Steel Authority of India, Ltd, where he rose to the position of Chief Personnel Manager. His next moves included a stint as Principal at Mason Global Ltd. – an IT and ITS company, where he set up a Bio Informatics Centre, and as HR Manager for HCL Perot Systems.

Immediately prior to joining Tata Steel in 2012, Suresh spent over 10 years at SRF Limited, as President of HR and Group SRF and CEO of their Education Division.

Suresh brings to the CEDEP board a wealth of knowledge and experience of operational and HR management in the rapidly expanding and internationalising commercial and manufacturing sector in South Asia.

He holds a master’s degree in Physics from University of Delhi, and a post-graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Calcutta.

Suresh has been a CEDEP Board member since 2018 and became Chairman of the Board in 2020.
