Programme Objectives

Leading health & safety as a performance lever being people- centric in a transforming world

The programme leads managers from all industries and sectors to rethink their role as H&S leaders and equip them to develop the skills and tools necessary to embrace the new world, put people at the center and turn the new H&S challenges into a powerful performance lever.

Pedagogical Objectives

Explore various trends and concepts to understand our fast transforming world. Pioneer ideas to lead in this new world using H&S as a performance driver. Focus on leadership skills, understand how Emotional Intelligence and creating a context for psychological safety impact improve the level of safety.

Part 1

Day 1 morning

Leadership is not about you, it is about the people

Exploring current trends in our fast-transforming world, needs and expectations of the various generations in the workplace, how it relates to H&S and how H&S can be used to unlock higher levels of performance

Chronic Unease : will it alway be fine ?

Why are we here? This program is about leadership applied to safety. It is about the life of our people. There is no bigger WHY than this one.

Day 1 afternoon

The acceleration fo the world’s transformation

Understanding the impact of change on safety, in particular in an industry setting, and how Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0 will impact the workplace.  Assessing the implications for human-machine interactions.

Gaining knowledge on what the future of work will look like, working with the young generation, the trend for personalisation and the shift of the modes of leadership.   Understanding why adaptability is key.

Chronic Unease : challengng the green lights

Understanding how sociology of organizations helps leaders analyze the recurring difficulties to implement HSE policies. :Learning to question the system, and how leaders can involuntarily set processes and habits that prevent capturing the systemic risks. Identifying and acting on weak signals. Setting a protective framework to discuss arguments.

Part 2
Leadership is all about you:

Developing personal wellbeing as well as H&S leadership skills focusing on advanced emotional intelligence, peer coaching, human performance, identification of weak signals, and decision-making.

Day 2 afternoon

Resilience and energy for performance

Recognizing and responding to mental health low level signals among team, then recognizing and responding to mental health low level signals in self.

Day  3

Emotional Intelligence and psychological safety

Learning to think before acting, using self-regulation and self-awareness. Creating the right context for our teams, making them comfortable to speak up. Study the impact of human factors on safety.

Used Pedagogical Methods and Technical Means

  • Classes, repeated role-plays, work in sub-groups.
  • Videos, case studies, practical exercises
  • Pedagogical distribution: 50% practical, 50% theoretical input
  • Common thread: each day, introduction at the beginning of the session and time for sharing and reflection at the end of the session.
  • Flat room, videos, computers in group work rooms. Round table discussions

Evaluation Modalities

Ongoing observation based on group work (practical cases, role-playing exercises, role-playing, experience sharing and debates). Action plan.

Signing sheet per half-day. “Hot” evaluation, Certificate of participation.
