Stefan Schepers is Secretary General of the High Level Groups on EU Policy Innovation, a unique think tank model for constructive engagement between the public and private sector, the alignment of views and the development of innovative solutions for common strategic issues.
Previously, he was the Director General of the European Institute of Public Administration (Maastricht, 1981-1990) and advisor to Council Presidencies and EU governments (2005-2018). He was also chairman of EPPA, a specialist consulting firm on corporate strategy and policy alignment.
He is visiting professor of European Studies at Henley Business School, University of Reading (UK) and executive director of the African-European Centre for Investment and Trade at their campus in Johannesburg (South Africa).
Stefan holds a Master of Law from the University of Leuven (Belgium), a Master in Advanced European studies from the University of Strasbourg (France), and a PhD in Political Sciences from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
Stefan has published articles on EU governance and corporate management. His latest books are Rethinking the Future of Europe (2014), Revolutionising EU Innovation Policy (2016), Innovation, and Governance and Entrepreneurship: How Do They Evolve in Mid-Income Countries (2017).
